The common types of STD's may not be as profound as that of common but there are many varieties of these STDS that have affected people in the past few years. Through the article I will give you information regarding the three most common types of STD's.
Firstly let me put before you a list of the 3 common STD's that we will be dealing with in this article. They are as follows:
- Gonorrhea

- Syphilis
- AIDS
Let us start with the most common of these three diseases and that is HIV AIDS. The HIV virus is a very potent immune deficiency virus which attacks the human immune system during its attack on the body. The virus is transmitted during sessions of unprotected sex prominently. It is also passed on through infected needles and blood as well as from a mother to the child. The virus has an incubation period for about three months or so after which its signs can be seen in the differences seen in the blood. In order to safe guard oneself from this type of disease one should make use and practice safe sex. Needles and blades should not be passed from one person to another but discarded as soon as they are used.
Gonorrhea is another commonly seen STD that affects both men and women. This disease is passed on through infected mucous membranes of the genitals like the anus, vagina, as well as, the mouth of the infected person. People can pass on the infection from one to another by simply touching others with contaminated fingers. The common symptoms that are seen as follows:
- In men: there may be a burning sensation accompanied by discharge, due to infections of the urethra.
- In women: vaginal discharges accompanied by burning and swelling.
If not treated on time this disease may pose a serious health risk to the individual as complications of the disease will give rise to the following:
- Rashes
- Pelvic inflammatory diseases
- Renal damage
- Cardiovascular problems
- Meningitis
The last commonly seen STD is that of Syphilis which is also known by the name bad blood. This disease is passed through direct contact with an infected wound or sore. Bacteria known as spirochetes are responsible for the spread of disease in the human body. They get into the body during sexual intercourse and then travel in the blood stream to the internal organs. The incubation of the disease is about three weeks after which symptoms like rashes, hair loss and soreness of the throat are seen. Symptoms if not treated will mutate into complications that will cause undue trouble in the later years.
Since times of old it has been said that prevention is better than cure and thus, one should take a lot of precaution and care when having sexual encounters with multiple partners. Practicing safe sex is also another attribute that needs to be learnt by the masses in order to stay away from these STD's. Anyone could be affected because many a time, people who pass on an STD may not be aware of the fact that they're affected.
